Yesterday, all over the nation sprouted up TEA Party rallies. Standing up against too much taxes. If you haven't already guessed, TEA stands for "Taxed Enough Already". I would have considered to go and join in on a rally if I didn't have a root canal occupy my time yesterday.

I have been reading about these TEA parties in the news and find it interesting that when conservatives protest, the liberals call it "Grumbling about paying their taxes". But when liberals protest its for the "common cause", for a "better purpose". It just goes to show how liberal our media is and a protest is only good if it is liberals doing it. Other wise it is called "complaining".

I understand that there needs to be some taxes to keep America running, but it has come to the point where we can be taxed TOO Much! This is what these TEA Parties are about! Letting our government know that enough is enough. The answer should be Stop the Spending! NOT Tax More!

I think it is about time conservatives start to make some noise! I only wish I could have joined in yesterday, instead of being at the Dentist!

Stimulus Package Includes Religious Discrimination

Say what? I thought the same thing. But according to The Christian Post, schools that accept federal funding for the renovation of their facilities are prohibited from allowing religious activities to be conducted in those facilities. That means kicking out Christian clubs, groups, even churches who have no where to meet except in public university buildings that aren’t used on Sunday mornings.

The American Center for Law and Justice found this provision in Section 803 of the current stimulus bill being debated in the Senate. Text below:

“Grants awarded under this section shall be for the purpose of modernizing, renovating, and repairing institution of higher education facilities that are primarily used for instruction and research.” Funds may not be used for “modernization, renovation, or repair of facilities -(i) used for sectarian instruction, religious worship, or a school or department of divinity; or (ii) in which a substantial portion of the functions of the facilities are subsumed in a religious mission.”

The ACLJ is looking in to the issue to determine if there are any legal grounds to oppose the provision. Americans need to be watchful. Congressional Democrats are sneaking in wasteful and inherently wrong items given the urgency of this bill. Republicans have released a list of wasteful items in the stimulus package. Today was my first time attending a group hosted by blue star moms that meets once a month to make quilts for our wounded Soldiers. We send the quilts we make to Quilts of Valor. I had a blast! It was nice to enjoy the company of other quilters while supporting our Heroes. I added a ChipIn to the right and below if any one is interested in donating fabric money for the quilts my group makes.

The intensifying military situation along the Israeli border has kept my attention the past few days. I have made 10 trips to that area, the most recent in August. I’m including some photos from that trip, including some from my meeting with former and likely future Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well as some photos of my standing on a rooftop in Sderot, just across the border from Gaza and the area that has suffered the most of the rockets fired from Hamas positions in Gaza. In one of the photos, you will see a small sample of the retrieved rockets that were fired into people’s homes, parks, and public streets. Despite a so-called “truce,” Hamas continued to launch over 8400 rockets into Sderot through August alone. Given the population of this Israeli community, the odds were 1 in 17 that you would be hit by a Hamas rocket.

Some do not understand the delicate nature of this situation. Here is the simple picture: Hamas is not a legitimate government, but a terrorist organization. Israel has the right not only to exist, but to expect some level of security. The borders are not miles away, but mere meters away. Those of us in the United States would never tolerate having Osama Bin Laden setting up shop 300 yards from our homes and allowing his thugs and terrorists fire rockets at our children’s schools or into the roofs of our homes. The Israeli’s shouldn’t be expected to tolerate that either.

Israel is doing what we would do---what they SHOULD do—to let Hamas and the rest of the world know that they will protect themselves and not allow a rogue government to attack them. Pray for the “peace of Jerusalem” and the rest of the world as we start this new year.

More freedom for Adoption not Abortion

I find it very interesting and frustrating that America, mainly liberals are so interested in more freedom's for abortions. They want to make it easier and easier for Women to have abortions. No more restrictions they say.

Where are the activists who want to make it easier and easier to have an adoption? More parents would have an adoption if it was easier and less expensive. It would encourage more adoptions, but at the moment it discourages even those with their heart set on adoption. There are so many restrictions and rules on adoption that it makes it difficult to adopt. Yes there should be some restrictions to make sure the child goes into a loving home, but there are too many at this moment. It is like this country wants to send the message. More abortions to kill our babies, less adoptions to save our babies. Now does that logic make sense?

I care deeply about this subject. First because I am against the slaughtering of babies and Second because whether I have biological children or not, Harrison and I plan to adopt. Why? Because there are already too many children that people don't want. I want to take one of those unwanted children and put them in a loving Christian Home. Jesus said "Let the little Children come unto Me." We need to say the same thing. We need to care for God's babies and his little children.

Van Johnson - end of a Golden Era

It makes me very sad to have to say that Van Johnson died today of natural causes at 92 years old. He is one of the last actors to die from the Golden Era of Hollywood. Not many of the good old fashioned actors are alive today. Van Johnson stared it many movies. My favorites being, Brigadoon, The Cain Mutiny, and In the Good Old Summertime. Johnson died at Tappan Zee Manor, an assisted living center in Nyack, N.Y., said Wendy Bleisweiss, a close friend.

Fight FOCA! and Shocking Quote

Now that Obama will be our new president. It is getting more and more scarier for unborn babies in this country. Obama said last year to planned parenthood that the first thing he will do as president is sign The Freedom of Choice Act.

The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) is a scary bill that will do the following:

Do away with the partial-birth abortion ban
Do away with the requirement that women be given information about the risks of abortion
Do away with the requirement that only licensed physicians may conduct an abortion
Do away with the requirement that parents are notified/give consent when their minor daughter wants an abortion

Here is a quote by Obama that states how he feels about abortion.

"I've got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. BUT if they make a mistake, I dont want them punished with a baby. I dont want them punished with an std at the age of 16."

First of all, there is such a think as responsibility. If they make a "mistake" then you dont punish the inocent one by murder! Why should the baby die because of a "mistake". Because of the "mistake" the young adult should take responsibility for their actions. I guess Obama isnt going to teach his girls the values and morals of taking responsibility for your actions. But then again, why should he. He doesnt follow those values and morals for himself either.

Second of all, if this is a quote about abortion. What does std's have to do with it. Killing the baby is not going to get rid of the std. Also comparing a precious baby to an std is appalling!

Ok, so I am a little confused. Obama's whole campaign was about change! At least that is what he said over and over and over again! Then why is he picking Staff from the Clinton era? That is not the change I want.... I am currious to see more about what Change "means to him".

Ken Ham on Religulous

I was not even going to bring up this movie because I feel it is not worth even talking about. I am however going to share with you a blog post by Ken Ham on the matter. A blog post that I think is worth reading......

Religulous—Vulgar and Blasphemous
Because the Creation Museum (and myself) feature in the new movie by God-hating comedian Bill Maher, a small group of us from AiG (reluctantly) went to see the movie—as we expect some media interviews we need to be prepared for. (We went during a matinee, and saved some money in the process, I’m happy to report!)

It was Bill Maher at his worst, with vulgar language, and going out of his way to blaspheme God and mock Christians (as well as mocking other religious groups)—as if he were shaking his fist at God in an act of God-hating defiance. The fact that God is a gracious, loving God, not willing that any should perish, is obvious in that Bill Maher is still with us!

The section where I appeared being interviewed by Bill Maher (and the Creation Museum was featured) was one of the more “sane” sections of the movie—though it was a typical cut-and-paste job.

Some of you may recall that over a year ago, a documentary crew, under false pretenses and giving a false name of the producer, came to the Creation Museum (under construction) to interview me. Then, through further clever deception, they set me up to be interviewed by Bill Maher, abusing the privileges our security gave them and breaking our security rules and protocols. But then again, for such God-haters, why would they have a high level of ethics when morality can be whatever they want to define it to be?

I challenge Bill Maher to show the ENTIRE video segment of my interview (uncut) to show what really happened—like the section where Bill Maher claimed there was a particular issue in the Bible of concern to him and when I challenged him to show me—he pretended to look for it—then gave up as he didn’t have a clue. The interview in the movie was a cut-and-paste job—but we weren’t surprised at that as Bill Maher is apparently not interested in truth, only in mocking Christians in particular for the sake of “comedy.”

Even though Maher also mocked Jews, Muslims, and others, the major theme of the movie was to denigrate Christianity. Most of those Maher interviewed were not in mainstream Christianity or were carefully chosen because they were not equipped to be able to answer his probing questions, in an attempt to make Christians look like absolute “nut cases” who had no idea why they believed what they did—and of course, we are sure there were cut-and-paste jobs all the way through to ensure people came off poorly........

McCain’s number two has still not taken questions from her traveling press corps—as we follow her every move from state to state. So today we decided to try to get some questions answered on the rope line while she was shaking hands and signing autographs after the rally. Through the throng, a reporter asked what she expects out of her meeting with Afghan President Hamid Karzai next week. She didn’t answer, but it wasn’t clear that over the music and crowd that she heard the question. When her husband Todd came up the rope line he was asked why he refuses to testify in the troopergate investigation. He looked up and listened to the question and looked down again declining to answer the reporter’s queries.

During the rally, the Alaska governor introduced her family saying her two daughters, Willow and Piper, were happy to be here because they had been to Disney World during their weekend trip to Orlando. 7-year-old Piper even got on the microphone and shouted, “Thank you” to the thousands of screaming supporters. After the event, Piper–donning a forest green dress–worked the rope line signing her name on McCain-Palin signs proving once again that she could very well be the GOP ticket’s secret weapon.

So, I am not a McCain fan, but I will vote for him because I refuse to take part in helping Obama win. People were buzzing about Vice President choices. I thought for sure McCain would pick someone stupid. Boy was I proved wrong...I woke up this morning with the news! McCain picks Sarah Palin. Wow! Pretty Cool! I have heard of her before because she was on the possible VP list. I liked her but never thought McCain would pick her. I am happy to say, I called that wrong.

I am still learning about Sarah Palin, and so far what I have researched has been positive. Pro-Life, Supports creation being taught in schools, opposes same sex-marriage, hold a lifetime membership to the National Rifle Association, is for the death penalty...but only covers some of her social issues....I only pray that the more I find out about her the more I like her. I feel positive about this choice, but only time will tell.

The Palins have 5 children. The youngest pictures below was born in April with Down Syndrome. I think the most that impresses me about her is that she stands up for all of the unborn babies. She quotes: "We understand that every innocent life has wonderful potential"
